Shocking news has emerged about Shamsud-Din Jabbar, the man responsible for a horrific terrorist attack in New Orleans that left 14 people dead and many more injured. It has been revealed that Jabbar had been expressing extremist religious views for nearly a year before the attack took place. Recordings on SoundCloud under the name of Jabbar showcased his condemnation of music, intoxicants, sex, and other pleasures as evils that should be destroyed.
Interestingly, the recordings, which were about 20 minutes each, matched Jabbar’s voice as heard in a video promoting his real estate business. Muslim scholars have strongly denounced the extremist beliefs held by Jabbar and groups like IS, emphasizing that Islam promotes mercy, peace, and justice.
Despite facing previous accusations of drunk-driving and spousal abuse, Jabbar’s radicalization remained largely unnoticed until the recordings surfaced. His extremist beliefs were centered around blaming music and poetry for leading people astray and enforcing the forbidding of evil as a duty upon mankind.
As time went on, Jabbar’s rhetoric became more extreme, with reports indicating that he was inspired by IS and expressed a desire to commit acts of violence. He had even planned to harm his own family before ultimately deciding to join the terrorist group. On the day of the attack, he posted videos on social media outlining his ISIS ideology.
Tragically, after renting a pickup truck and displaying an IS flag, Jabbar drove through a crowd of New Year’s revelers in New Orleans, firing a rifle at the crowd and police before being fatally shot. The aftermath of the attack resulted in 14 deaths and approximately 35 injuries, with many of the victims coming from the local area.
In addition to local residents, individuals from other states and countries like Mexico and Israel were also present during the tragic events. This incident has garnered attention from various officials and the wider public.
During a recent news briefing, an FBI official disclosed that investigators believe Jabbar acted alone in carrying out the attacks. Authorities conducted a thorough search for possible accomplices after discovering improvised explosive devices near the crime scene. Shockingly, two of these devices were set up for remote detonation, with a remote control device found in Jabbar’s possession.
It was also uncovered that a short-term rental home where Jabbar had stayed was intentionally set on fire about two miles away from the attack site. This additional act of destruction only added to the devastation caused by the incident.
In response to the tragic events, local and state leaders have stressed the importance of showing resilience and compassion towards the victims and their families. As the community comes together to provide support, there is a shared determination to move forward and strive for a sense of normalcy in the days ahead.
In a touching statement, New Orleans city council member Oliver Thomas highlighted the need to offer prayers and support to all those affected by the senseless violence. It serves as a reminder that in times of darkness, unity and empathy can pave the way for healing and hope.
