Joe Rogan has recently called out popular rapper Drake for his notorious ‘cursed’ bets on UFC fights. As the host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast since 2009, Rogan has interviewed a wide range of guests, including prominent figures from the world of combat sports like Mike Tyson, Jon Jones, and Tyson Fury.
It seems that Rogan is eager to have Drake as a guest on his podcast to discuss the rapper’s consistently poor track record when it comes to betting on UFC matches. In a recent episode featuring music producer Scott Storch, the two men talked about their desire to collaborate with Drake. Storch mentioned, “I really wanna work with Drake, but I’ve been roadblocked with Drake. I know Drake loves me and my production, but for whatever reason I haven’t been able to get him.”
Rogan’s main focus for the potential podcast episode with Drake would be to delve into the rapper’s history of unsuccessful bets on UFC fights. He shared, “I wanna get a hold of Drake and talk to him about his fight picks. That motherf***er loses more money on fights [than anyone]. I wanna call him up.”
Drake’s reputation for jinxing fighters with his bets has become so widespread that some fans believe any fighter he backs is destined to lose. This trend is particularly concerning for UFC athletes, as Drake’s favorite betting arena seems to be within the MMA organization.
One of Drake’s most significant losses occurred when he bet on Jorge Masvidal to defeat Colby Convington at UFC 272 in March 2022. Drake’s total losses from 23 UFC bets amount to a staggering $12.7 million (£9.97 million), with only nine wins under his belt. Despite this, Rogan’s producer noted that Drake did recently win a substantial bet by predicting Jon Jones to knock out Stipe Miocic at UFC 309, earning himself $954,000 (£749,234) in the process.
Nevertheless, Rogan remained unimpressed by Drake’s recent win, pointing out that Jon Jones was a heavy favorite with odds of 600/1. He quipped, “Wasn’t Jon Jones a 600/1 favorite? That’s what I would’ve said anyway. I mean, that’s an easy bet.”
The potential podcast discussion between Rogan and Drake promises to be an engaging and insightful conversation about the rapper’s betting habits and their impact on the UFC landscape.
